The annual “Lou Sang” extravaganza, orchestrated by Marina Island Pangkor, unfolded on February 13, 2024, amidst the picturesque setting of Marina Island Pangkor Jetty Complex.

Stretching an impressive 72 meters, this lively Lou Sang affair featured vibrant, crunchy vegetables meticulously arranged, a testament to the dedication of more than 30 enthusiastic students from UniKL MiMET.

The grandeur of the occasion was elevated as YB. Teh Kok Lim, a prominent figure in Perak’s State EXCO, took the stage, embodying the esteemed presence of YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani Bin Mohamad, the revered Menteri Besar of Perak Darul Ridzuan.

Also present at the program were YDH Toh Seri Bijaya Lt. Col (B) Dato’ Shaharudin bin Haji Nazari (Chief of Manjung District), YB. Commander (B) Nordin Bin Ahmad Ismail (Member of Parliament for Lumut), YB. Pn. Norhaslinda Binti Zakaria (State Assemblywoman for Pangkor), YB. Tn. Hj. Rosli Abd. Rahman (State Assemblyman for Pasir Panjang), Ybhg. Tn. Shamsul Ridzuan Bin Idris (District Officer of Manjung), Ybhg. Laksamana Muda Dato’ Pahlawan Abdul Halim Bin Shaari (Commander of the Education & Training Headquarters of the Royal Malaysian Navy), Ybrs. Captain Shahril Amir Bin Mohd Mokhtar (Commanding Officer of KD Sultan Idris I), Ybrs. PGKB Tn. Shazlean Bin Mohd Hanafiah (Chief of Fire & Rescue Department Zone 3 Perak), ASP Tuan Rahim Bin Mahmud (Head of Integrity and Licensing Department at Manjung District Police Headquarters), Ybhg. Dato’ Ding Poi Chung (Managing Director / Founder of Marina Island Pangkor), heads and representatives of government agencies and departments, media personnel, and guests.

The festivities resonated with the pulsating rhythms of lion dances by the talented troupe from Nan Hwa High School, while the air was electrified with the mesmerizing movements of dragon dances presented by SMJK Dindings. The reverberating beats of 24-Festive Drums, skillfully performed by Yik Ching High School, added an extra layer of excitement to the gathering.

In a gesture of gratitude, Marina Island generously presented Ang Pao to its esteemed guests, symbolizing appreciation for their presence and support.

As the echoes of celebration filled the air, heartfelt appreciation extended to all attendees, both local and international, for gracing this monumental occasion, marking it as the most memorable Lou Sang event in Perak’s illustrious history.
