Great news! Marina Island was featured in this wonderful article titled “Fierce competition at Perak triathlon attracted more than 700 participants from home and abroad”. We thank our media friends at Sin Chew Daily Malaysia for their support.

It was mentioned that the 2-day triathlon competition was hosted by XS Elite Performance, sponsored by Marina Island Pangkor and supported by various organisations, namely the Perak State Government, Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Perak.

Many of the athletes who participated in the competition came from abroad, such as the Netherlands, South Africa, Hong Kong and many other countries.

YB Encik Loh Sze Yee (State Committee for Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development), Toto Ong (Director of Elite XS Performance), Nurmalis binti Musa (CEO Tourism Perak), Ding Mei Looi (CEO Marina Island Pangkor), Mohd Helmi bin Arifin (Secretary of Manjung Municipal Council) were present to present the winners with their prizes.

    （实兆远28日讯）曼绒舒缓护理协会主席李利勇说，该会是非盈利机构，于2016年成立至今会所已搬迁过一次，目前会于同心花园的会所也是由一名热心人士象征式的租金出租。 他说，但由于登记要求照顾的末期癌病患不断增加，是为了有更广阔可容纳更多病床，以及储放各种医疗器材的空间，该会于是决定购买属于本身的会所，以更有效的为需要的病患和他们的家属提供服务。李利勇昨晚在该会于实兆远平安村北京大饭店举办慈善筹款晚宴说晚会是为筹募购买会所基金及行政开销等费用，希望热心人士继续给予该会支持。 他说，曼绒舒缓护理协会服务团队的专业人员有医生、护士和志工，并以医疗器材及患者家人提供辅导，免费为病危和无法治瘉的病患提供服务，地方上若有需要的病患，可以联络本会登记为会员再进一步安排。他也说，该会目前仍为约50名病患提供服务，而成立至今的8年时间内，也总共为曼绒区内的约600名癌患提供服务，病患年龄介于1岁至90余岁。他也说，该会也已获得批准税务减免，善长仁翁捐献的善款可以扣除税务。希望大家继续给予该会支持，以达到筹款100万令吉的目标。 行动党木威国会议员拿督倪可汉，赞扬曼绒舒缓护理协会同仁提供的免费服务，让许多有需要的病患和他们的家属获得照护和辅导，让他们的病情获得照顾，减轻病痛。他说，社会上需要更多能够为需要的群体提供服务的人，无论是财力或物力上给予他们支持，例如像舒缓护理服务，就能协助病患减轻病痛带来的痛及在人生的最后阶段活得更有尊严。倪可汉昨晚也宣布拨款5万令吉，充作曼绒舒缓护理协会购会所基金，大会财政陈美橤也在会上向出席者和热心捐款者致谢，现场筹款活动也为晚会筹获另外的1万6892令吉善款。 Source: https://perak.chinapress.com.my/?p=178265
