Lumut will soon become a port of call for
international cruise liners when a marina incorporating
Dutch architecture is built on a man-made island in Teluk
Muroh here.
According to a Bernama report, the RM 1 billion
Marina Island Pangkor project undertaken by Marina Sanctuary
Resort Sdn Bhd would be on a 128.3 hectare man-made island.
"Upon completion in the next 10 to 15
years, the island will have mixed buildings comprisingly a
jetty, sailing academy, hotel, shopping centre, commercial
centre, homes and shophouses," said Marina Sanctuary Resort
Sdn Bhd project manager, B.K Goh at the launch of the Marina
Island Pangkor shophouses recently.
He said land reclamation work of the
man-made island started in 2003 while construction of
commercial buildings and residential homes would begin this
month. |
